Valley of Gordolasque between St Grat lake and the barrage

Surrounded with prairies and with forests of larches, the "Panda gîte" is situated near immediate of the central zone of the National
park of Mercantour
recommended Period: spring ( endemic botanical species), autumn (rutting season of the chamois)
The avifaune of mountain (royal eagle, bearded vulture) and numerous large hoolf animals (chamoises, ibexes, argali sheep) are visible all year long

The "Panda Gîte" provide his guest with a teaching kit comprising :
- Local flora and fauna identification guides,
- 2 pairs of binoculars,
- Books presenting the National park of Mercantour,
- Topographical maps of the site (1/25000) and the region
- Brochures giving information about local nature and discovery potential (visits to
nature reserves, nature events, etc).
- Handbook with details of trails, the surrounding area, local points of interest, etc.,
produced by the owner and the park.

What is a " Panda Gîte "? A "Panda Gîte" is an accommodation classified by "Gîtes de France", set in a Regional or National Nature Park, which has been granted the WWF France label, if the following three conditions are met:	Types of activities offered "Panda Gîtes" must comply with either of the conditions below:
• The gîtes provide facilities for nature watching in a quality natural environment, • They provide a full range of equipment and specific information, • They are run by owners (or managers) who are concerned with conserving the environment.	• Be located on a property of interest for discovering nature, on which a walking and watching circuit (nature trail) is reserved for gîte guests’ use. The circuit may include small watching posts. • Be located in direct proximity to a footpath or area open to the public, in a quality natural environment of interest for discovering nature.
